Un Resort toujours populaire
Zermatt started as a mountaineering destination and is still famous for mountaineering, skiing, and other winter sports.
The Matterhorn is and always has been the big draw to this village in the Swiss Alps, and after the first attempt at ascending this striking mountain, interest boomed in the area, and the resort village grew.
That was back in the 1860s, and Zermatt has stayed popular ever since. They say that the Matterhorn is the most photographed mountain globally, so do expect it to be busy whatever the time of year!
Grand pour dîner à l'extérieur

Comment aller là
Zermatt is a car-free village. This is great because you can wander around on foot or skis and not have to worry about lots of traffic.
However, it does make it more challenging to get here.
If you are driving, you will have to leave your car in Tasch, and then take the train or a taxi for the last 7 kilometres.
Bearing this in mind, coming all the way by train seems to be the easiest option, and you can connect through from Geneva.
You can also arrive in style by helicopter with Air Zermatt.
This service is expensive, but then everything about Zermatt is expensive anyway!
Festival de Musique en Avril
If you want some live music within these beautiful surroundings, you should come here in April when the Festival «Zermatt Unplugged» continue.
